Battlefield 2018 Might be Battlefield: Bad Company 3

If a recent leak is right, we might be looking at the return of Bad Company in 2018.

Speculation around what 2018s Battlefield game could be has been running high since EA confirmed a new title would release in the next fiscal year. There has been talk that the game might head to World War II, the Vietnam War, or back to modern combat. However, there has been little discussion about whether the game would finally bring back the much beloved Battlefield: Bad Company series. Seeing as there had been no developments on the franchise since 2010, many had assumed the sub-franchise was dead. Well, it may not be.

According to AlmightyDaq, Battlefield 2018 will be Battlefield: Bad Company 3. Seeing as AlmightyDaq has leaked a ton of Battlefield 1 info that would turn out to be legit, he might be right.

Battlefield: Bad Company 3’s campaign will apparently take place during the mid and post-Vietnam conflict time period and won’t be historically accurate. Whether or not we’ll get to see what happens after Bad Company 2’s cliffhanger ending is unknown.

In terms of multiplayer, players will get to partake in Conquest, Rush, Operations, Domination, Team Deathmatch, and a 5v5 game mode. Maps will focus on delivering tighter gameplay and be similar to what you would have found in the original Bad Company games. You’ll have access to a wide array Vietnam and Cold War weaponry, and customization will be on par with what we saw in Battlefield 4. A wide array of modern vehicles will be at your disposable. As for kits, you’ll be able to choose from Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon.

As for microtransactions, AlmightyDaq says that Bad Company 2 will not be going to down the Star Wars Battlefront II route. In fact, he is unsure if even Battlepacks will reappear due to the intense backlash EA has gotten this year for its poor handling of microtransactions.

Finally, he noted that several YouTubers, who are likely part of EA’s Game Changer program, have already been briefed about Bad Company 3’s existence. This lines up with what DICE and EA have done in the past for both Battlefield 1 and Star Wars Battlefront II.

Obviously, this all needs to be taken with a grain of salt. While AlmightyDaq has a solid track record with the franchise, nothing is truly official until EA and DICE make an announcement, which might not happen till around E3 2018 time.

We’ll keep you updated should anymore information become available.

Thanks, MP1st!
