It may go without saying that a game like Genesis Noir is the type of unique, bizarre game that would easily draw attention through crowdfunding, but it may actually be so bizarre that it becomes hard to describe. Basically, it’s a graphic adventure game with a black and white film noir story about a watch peddler named No Man who has to stop a jazz singer named Miss Mass from being killed by a bullet. Oh, and Miss Mass is also a god, and the gunshot is actually the Big Bang, requiring you to head into the cosmos inside of the gunfire. Yeah, that kind of story.
Blending 3D starscapes with 2D vignettes, players will interact with everything around them, expressing themselves by creating or destroying parts of these worlds with whatever tools they can discover. If you want to see more, you can check out the initial teaser below (which is part of the Kickstarter campaign’s video), check out a playable short story/experience that sets the tone of the game, or just check out the Kickstarter page to learn more and donate. Developers Feral Cat Den have set the initial funding goal at $40,000, and if all goes well, the finished product should be out around December 2019. Needless to say, fans of trippy, interesting adventure games may indeed want to keep their eye on Genesis Noir.
