Facebook Officially Launches Instant Games Platform

Facebook has officially launched its Instant Games platform, which will allow developers to make games for Facebook users.

Instant Games was in closed beta for about 18 months, during which time they added features like monetization and livestreaming for developers to use in their games. The full version of the platform added Ad APIs for those who want to advertise within their games, and a Monetisation Manager that will give developers a birds eye view of their earnings as well as optimization tools and analytics.

A new Game Switch API is also being added, which promotes new games to players. Developers can also create “deep links” that will take players directly to their game from wherever else they are on the internet.

Facebook is at GDC this week to promote their new platform. Developers will be able to sign up for it and start developing their games for it today.
