New Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition Trailer Displays New Features

The war against the Genestealer menace rages on as Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition prepares for launch. This latest trailer provides viewer with a heavy dose of “cleansing” action and exhibits a handful of the new features getting inducted into the 2016 shooter.

The original Space Hulk saw lukewarm reception upon release, with many outlets criticizing its lack of classes in the single-player campaign, weak squad AI and basic objectives. It seems that Cyanide and Streum On Studio have set out to address these complaints, as some of the enhanced edition’s main additions appear to be direct responses to them.

  • Class Customization – players will now be able to unlock armor and weapon skins as well as attachments and perks.
  • Chaplain Class – The Chaplain will be geared towards increasing the squad’s survivability, but will also come equipped with powerful melee abilities.
  • New Weapons – The enhanced editions adds a slew of new melee and ranged weapons for both the player character and AI allies.
  • New Enemy Types – Now there are even more Genestealer sub-species lurking in the depths and shadows of the Space Hulk.
  • Special Missions – enemy spawns and objectives are now randomized.

Spicing up the cooperative mode will be nice, but applying all these changes to the single player campaign would be best. Even then, whether or not these changes will make enough of an impact remains to be seen.

Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition launches on May 22 for PC and PlayStation 4.
