DICE Testing Battle Royale Prototype in Battlefield V

According to a report from Venture Beat that comes from a person with knowledge of the studio, DICE is currently working on a Battle Royale mode with its upcoming Battlefield V. Joining Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2, the Battle Royale-style that has been made popular by Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. I believe it is pretty safe to say what the theme for E3 2018 is going to be. While MOBA’s outside of Overwatch have begun to dwindle in support, the direction going forward looks to be on the Battle Royale mode. Plop a bunch of players on a map, scavenge and build defenses while trying to eliminate opponents and survive offers a lot of different gaming aspects into one. DICE is certainly capable of achieving this with Battlefield V, and doing so with a game that features the Frostbite Engine could create plenty of opportunities.
