Korg Gadget for Switch Releasing Next Week

The Nintendo Switch has already had its fair share of surprise announcements in its just-over one year life thus far, but perhaps one of the biggest left-field announcements last year was that Korg’s Gadget platform would be making its way onto Nintendo’s platforms, let alone a video game console at all. Featuring sixteen stand-alone emulations of the company’s back catalog of synthesizers and drum machines alike, Korg Gadget allows you to compose and arrange your tracks in a portable workstation of sorts. Or at the very least, let you mess about with the very many knobs and keys that make up your typical electronic music instrument.

Now, Korg Gadget has a release date with the Switch version releasing digitally on April 26. There’s no news on a physical iteration and what’s more, Korg Gadget won’t come cheap as the US retail price for the software stands at $48. It’ll be interesting to see how Korg’s overdue return to a Nintendo platform — following the release of their emulated MS-10 synth via the DS-10 on Nintendo DS — fairs on the Switch console.
