King, the mobile developer behind Candy Crush, is working on a new Call of Duty game for mobile devices.
Activision Blizzard is ready to throw it’s top IP into the mobile ring once again. While Call of Duty: Heroes and Call of Duty: Zombies remain available on mobile app stores, it appears that Activision wants to try something new. As such, it’s bringing in King to develop a whole new Call of Duty experience for mobile devices.
A job posting has gone up for a Call of Duty Level Designer at King. The potential employee would work out of the studio’s Stockholm location on the Call of Duty franchise. According to the posting, this is meant to be a ‘fresh’ take on the long-running franchise.
“The aim is to create a Call of Duty experience on mobile, while also breaking new ground for mobile and redefining the genre. The approach and ambition is to be fresh, social, and highly accessible, while providing a very authentic game experience.”
Best known for Candy Crush, King was acquired by Activision Blizzard back in 2016. This will be the first time since the acquisition that the developer has gotten to work with one of Activision’s IPs. Hopefully, we’ll get to learn more about this mysterious mobile Call of Duty title soon.
