THQ Nordic revealed that Metro Exodus will not make its intended 2018 release window.
First revealed at E3 2017, Metro Exodus is the third entry in 4A Games’ impressive first-person shooter survival horror franchise. Shown running on Xbox One X hardware on Microsoft’s stage, Exodus managed to stun players with gorgeous videos and heart-pounding action. It was also announced that the game would release at some point in 2018. Now, however, we know that is not the case.
THQ Nordic’s Q1 financial report revealed that Metro Exodus has been hit with a delay. Though no specific reason was given, THQ announced that Exodus would now launch sometime in Q1 2019. That means we’ll see an official launch in the January-March time frame.
Metro Exodus continues the story of Artyom as he sets off on a journey east to start a new life. The game will feature linear levels as well as more open environments, a dynamic weather system, and environments that change with the seasons. Expect to hear a lot more about Metro Exodus at E3 2018.
