DICE Partners with NVIDIA for Battlefield V

If you watched Wednesday’s Battlefield V reveal, there was a bit of marketing ploys in the backgrounds. DICE and EA will be partnered with Xbox One for its console experience, but you also may have noticed NVIDIA’s logo on some shots. DICE has teamed up with NVIDIA for Battlefield V, and this is relevant for a few reasons. Previous Battlefield iterations on PC have been partnered with AMD, so this will certainly be a change for the franchise going forward. Senior Producer at DICE Andreas Morell stated in a press release, “With Battlefield V, we wanted to align with a partner who shares our passion for PC gaming. By combining our talented development team with NVIDIA’s advanced gaming technologies and robust GeForce PC gaming platform, we’re creating the most physical, immersive, and visually-striking way to experience Battlefield V.”

What is more important is that this game now has the possibility of being the best graphical experience the Battlefield series has seen to date. The reason being would be if NVIDIA includes its GameWorks features into the game. Nothing has been confirmed yet for these features. While NVIDIA GameWorks can go above and beyond in making games look great, these features tend to be resource hogs. Also many games have had issues implementing these features correctly which inevitably cause bugs or optimization issues. NVIDIA stated, “NVIDIA engineers are working with the Battlefield V developers at DICE to bring the best aspects of the GeForce gaming platform to bear for PC gamers, meaning GeForce Experience will deliver Game Ready drivers, Optimal Playable settings, and other NVIDIA-platform features for Battlefield V. In addition, we are working on integrating cutting-edge technologies, optimizing performance, and creating the definitive PC experience.”
