CLG Welcomes New Academy Coach

With the Summer Split approaching, Counter Logic Gaming has announced a new coach for their Academy team.

Matthew “xSojin” Perez will be taking over the reigns as CLG Academy coach after previously coaching the Maryville Esports Club. xSojin helped lead the team to its first Championship and through the gauntlet that it was with wins over two-time defending champion the University of British Columbia, two-time finalist Rober Morris, and a final victory over the University of Toronto.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity that CLG has given me and I’m ready for what’s to come,” said Perez. “I’m already enjoying my time with the Academy boys and been welcomed whole heartily by them, so I’m hoping that the fans will welcome me to the organization with open arms as well!”

With franchising being in effect, xSojin has the tall task of developing a crew of players to be LCS ready come the time. Growth is the name of the game in Academy and hopefully he finds more success.
