Among the interesting tidbits included in yesterday’s pre-E3 leak, one of the more prominent nuggets was the possibility of Fortnite coming to Nintendo Switch. The leak was confirmed to be legitimate by multiple outlets, but leaks are tricky things and are best regarded with a grain of salt until more substantial evidence arrives to back it up. Today, the Fortnite portion of the leak received exactly that.
It has come to light that Fortnite has been rated for Switch in South Korea. According to the South Korean game classification decision, Fortnite is rated for players twelve years of age and older, and is described as a game in which “[collect] resources and builds defensive fortresses to stop monsters.” Fortnite received its rating due to “Comic expression of a slight level of attack. (Attack expression using various weapons against human and extraterrestrial life forms.)”
The language used here seems to imply that only the “Save the World” portion of the game has been rated so far, but it stands to reason that the battle royale mode won’t be far behind. Between this and the E3 leak, it’s also probably safe to assume that Fortnite will soon be coming to several markets on the Switch, not just South Korea.
