Even with a ton of other projects in the works, Insomniac Games have remained committed to the Oculus Rift as well, putting out titles such as Edge of Nowhere and The Unspoken in between the likes of Spider-Man and Song of the Deep. But now they’ve unveiled what may very well be their most ambitious title yet for the platform, Stormland. You can check out the announcement trailer below as always, which provides some bits of gameplay and a heavy glimpse into the game’s world.
Playing as an android in a distant sci-fi land, you find yourself busted up, needing to repair yourself and experiment with augmentation in order to save your friends, all while a reoccurring storm known as The Tempest ravages and rearranges the landscapes. Boasting co-op play, combat with freeform styles and many options, and all-new Oculus Touch mechanics that allow for different ways to move around, Stormland does look incredibly promising indeed, especially with its irresistibly charming Johnny 5/WALL-E-esque main character. We’ll see more of Stormland at E3 next week, and expect the full game for the Oculus Rift in 2019.
