The mobile port for ARK: Survival Evolved launches today and is still following a free to play model. This latest version of the game features somewhere around eighty dinosaurs for players to tame and ride, as well as a landscape of similar scale to that seen in other versions. ARK’s crafting and base-building mechanics are still present, and players can also enjoy either solo or cooperative play. They also have the option of joining a tribe to gain benefits like resource sharing and new re-spawn points.
ARK: Survival Evolved’s mobile version also offers a paid subscription service called “Primal Pass.” This pass gives subscribers an ad-free experience, reserved server slots, gifts and some other, currently unknown, benefits. There is also a new “material” called “Ancient Amber” which allows players to craft optional upgrades for their gear, build unique structures, apply temporary buffs and even resurrect their favorite tamed dinosaurs. It sounds a lot like a premium currency, but its exact nature is still unconfirmed at this time.
ARK: Survival Evolved’s mobile version is available now on iOS and Android devices.
