NASCAR games have continued to get traction in the last few years thanks to developer Monster Games. Dating back to the turn of the century, Monster is responsible for the Heat series and what might possibly be the greatest NASCAR game ever, From Dirt to Daytona. The developer resurrected the franchise thanks to 704Games and has released two stellar titles in the last two years. Now, NASCAR Heat 3 looks to be the pinnacle version of the current series offering the deepest NASCAR experience to date.
NASCAR Heat 3 will include a more expanded career mode along with improved A.I., better visuals and even the low-tier modified cars. While the dirt track Eldora Speedway was included as part of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last year, Monster Games has expanded on the feedback from that. Including multiple dirt tracks (along with the return of Eldora Speedway), players will be able to race any cars, including modified cars, on these dirt tracks. This will add a whole new aspect to NASCAR Heat 3.
We were able to get some seat time with the game back at E3. The lighting in the game has gotten a large improvement to bring a more realistic feel to the tracks. The A.I. during races also appears to make better decisions as this has been trending in the right direction each year. The game will include every driver, car and paint scheme from the 2018 season. This will be for the Monster Energy Cup, Xfinity Series and the Camping World Truck Series. The modified cars are not officially sponsored as these tend to be more independent across the nation. The game will also include the new Charlotte Roval road course. A deeper career mode is also being offered which will allow upgrades to vehicles as you will begin in the dirt circuit and work your way up to the Monster Energy Cup. The return of 40-car online racing is also in play as improvements have been made to this experience. The introduction of e-sports tournaments will help fuel the online experience. Finally, the game will include track-specific pre-built setups for getting the most out of your car.
The racing and bumping was very enjoyable in the game as the physics for a stock car game felt right. You will draft cars in front of you to gain momentum and setup for a pass. All the aesthetics that define the modern day NASCAR look to be well represented in the game. The physics also change when switching over to dirt courses. Some dirt courses are road courses, so there will be plenty of variety in NASCAR Heat 3. Lastly, the game will include a $50 voucher for a NASCAR event much like last year. NASCAR Heat 3 will release on September 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can check out the trailer and some screenshots below. The game is available for pre-order now.
