Despite both releasing last year, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 have continued to receive plenty of support as two of the Switch’s key exclusives, with the former recently getting Labo support, and the latter having just released the Octo Expansion DLC.
In the brief video below shared via Nintendo’s Twitter account, general manager of software Shinya Takahashi spoke about several of the hybrid platform’s big exclusives. In addition to sharing his love for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and his excitement for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Takahashi also mentioned that updates are currently in development for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2. While Takahashi made no mention as to what they could be, Splatoon 2’s free updates will continue through December, so it would not be unreasonable to assume that Mario Kart 8’s update would arrive within a similar timeframe.
