Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle players can now unlock a Ghost Jason avatar for free, Blue Wizard Digital announced today.
The reward comes after eight million players across the iOS, Android and Steam version of the horror puzzle title racked up 250 million dead Camp Crystal Lake campers.
Ghost Jason is obtained by completing challenges featured in the Daily Death mode. Along with this latest addition to Killer Puzzle, episode DLC packs will have “special discounts” running from next week.
Killer Puzzle has players assuming control of the iconic Jason Voorhees, stalking down victims with his different weapons — the machete is one of them — or scaring them into environmental deaths. Blue Wizard’s title features multiple episodes and locations, including the city of Manhattan.
The inclusion of Manhattan is a reference to the 1989 film Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.
Killer Puzzle first launched in North America in January before a worldwide release followed on April 13.
An officially licensed installment in the Friday the 13th franchise, Killer Puzzle is the spiritual successor to Blue Wizard’s debut title, Slayaway Camp.
“There are a number of secret Jasons we built into the game that we’ve been ‘saving up’ for special events,” says Jason Kapalka, director at Blue Wizard. “We’re excited to finally unleash Ghost Jason onto the world!”
