Earlier today ConcernedApe, creator of Stardew Valley, dropped the news that fans have been waiting for. The new multiplayer update will officially release for PC, Mac & Linux August 1. Currently, there is a multiplayer beta for users of these systems that allows players to get a feel for the update that allows them to farm, collect resources and interact with each other. According to ConcernedApe, this release version of the update won’t feature any “significant changes” from the current beta other than “a few last-minute bug fixes”. It was also clarified that split-screen, couch co-op will not be supported. And while there are other versions of Stardew Valley available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, it appears users will need to wait a bit longer for multiplayer on those platforms as ConcernedApe rolls out the update for PC, Mac & Linux in the meantime.
