The career mode in F1 2017 closely mimicked the sport as it incorporated car research and development over the course of a season. Codemasters is expanding on that in F1 2018. In the latest Developer Diary, the developers discuss some changes to the ways that the upgrade system works. What is interesting is that over the course of the seasons in your career, there will be regulation changes much like the real sport. This will lead to different strategy on how to develop your engine and aerodynamics each season. The pricing structure and the presentation of the development will be different this year, as well.
