2K announced the Million Dollar Challenge with AJ Styles recently, And today, they have announced not only more details on that – but an all-new mode added to WWE 2K19. The Towers mode is very much like an arcade-style gauntlet from something like the Mortal Kombat series – where picking a certain path will send you down one road of destruction or another. In 2K Towers, you pick a wrestler to face a wide array of other wrestlers and each tower has a theme either involving the roster in it or a certain match type.
AJ Styles has his own tower and those who manage to beat his tower on either Xbox One or PlayStation 4 and then cut a promo on him while showing that you have beaten the Tower allows you to enter a contest to become one of four finalists to square off in a tournament. The winner of that faces AJ Styles at WrestleMania Weekend in 2K19 and if you win that, you get a million dollars. The Tower concept is a variant of a gauntlet match, but does seem to make things more challenging by having damage carry over. The screenshots also confirm a variety of wrestlers for the game – including the late Vader, the current IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho, Andre the Giant, the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, a variety of versions of The Rock and Trish Stratus. WWE 2K19 releases on October 9 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while Deluxe Edition owners can play it four days early.
