Following yesterday’s revelation (of sorts) that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy appeared to force even those who purchased the physical, retail version of the game, to download two of the three games featured, after reaching out to Activision ourselves, the publisher has now finally issued a statement in response to growing concerns as to what would indeed be on the physical disc day one.
The global launch date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy is Sept. 21; and we’re excited for fans to play all three reignited games on that day.
As with most games today, downloading an update after purchase is quite common. The language on packaging and on the web is to let players know the requirements for Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
As you can see, it’s not much of an explanation other than a baffling referring to two full, final-build games as “an update” so your guess is as good as ours. Let’s hope the retail version, at the very least, doesn’t come with a pair of codes to use in order to download either game — making the game upon re-sale permanantly incomplete — because that will likely increase the concerns and growing hostility towards Activision at present. Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be available across PS4, Xbox One & PC.
