Discord Beta Testing Its Own Storefront

Recently, Valve made a move to make Steam a bit more Discord-like with a totally revamped chat system. Now, Discord is moving to make Discord more Steam-like with a game store.

The game store is only out in beta right now to 50,000 Canadian Discord users. The store currently features a smattering of indie games such as Into the Breach, Hollow Knight and Dead Cells. Users with a Nitro subscription will get access to additional games free of charge.

They also plan on getting some new games launching on Discord first – exclusively for about 90 days. Discord’s store upgrade also includes a library feature where you’ll be able to launch games from other storefronts as well as their own.

Discord’s store and library features aren’t ready for prime time, so expect to see things change a bit before the beta ends.
