Gameplay footage from the highly anticipated Life Is Strange 2 has been posted on the episodic series’ YouTube channel.
The video, which is almost twenty minutes long, showcases the title’s mechanics in action and follows brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz at their home. It’s worth mentioning that the video (posted below) does reveal parts of the story — presumably taken from the first untitled episode — so be warned of spoilers.
The sequel to Dontnod Entertainment’s critically acclaimed adventure title was first announced in 2017, with its debut trailer and details on the story dropping this week at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
Following an incident at their home in suburban Seattle, the brothers are on the run from the police and plan to flee to their family’s hometown of Puerto Lobos, Mexico.
Much like Life Is Strange’s protagonist, Max Caulfield, the sequel will see the introduction of a new power for the brothers to use.
Life Is Strange 2 is connected to The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, the free standalone experience set in the same universe, with Dontnod suggesting in a Tumblr post that anyone who played the title will see how “some of the finer details about the story and the brothers may now start falling into place.”
Dontnod has previously confirmed that choices made in Captain Spirit, which was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in June, would have an impact in Life Is Strange 2.
In our review of Captain Spirit, Hardcore Gamer said it was “a highly replayable adventure and something that anyone who craves more depth in a game’s story should try out.”
Life Is Strange 2, which will be told across five episodes, debuts its opener on September 27 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
