Rebel Galaxy Outlaw has quite a bit to live up to. The original Rebel Galaxy, from 2015, was a particularly well-received sci-fi trucking game. So an improved semi-prequel to it needs to up its game in more ways than one. Thankfully, if the new gameplay trailer seem here is any indication, Double Damage Games is definitely up to that task. Showing not just a hefty chunk of space combat but also side activities such as dice games, slots, and arcade titles, the clip definitely suggests a lot for players to do.

Casting players as Juno Markev, an outlaw and smuggler, our heroine winds up in debt to a casino owner after a chance encounter wrecks their ship. So now she has to set out on a variety of missions to essentially clear the table. More than ever, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is doubling down on the retro-future aesthetics as well, as seen with the soundtrack and style. It all definitely looks like a blast, aimed to please fans of the original and space sim enthusiasts alike. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw will head to the PC, Switch, and PS4 in Q1 2019, so keep an eye out for it.
