With each mode of this year’s Call of Duty entry focusing on multiplayer and social elements, there’s plenty of opportunities for the game to expand beyond launch with both free and premium additions.
Today, Treyarch has shared some brief details on the first pieces of free DLC that will be added onto Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in the months following its release, much of which will be available first to PS4 players. Starting in November, a brand-new take on Nuketown will be made available, while the first of several new specialists will be joining the roster in December. Treyarch also mentioned that Blackout, the franchise’s take on the popular battle royale mode, will see “regular map updates, expansions and new modes” after launch, also for free. Seasonal, weekly, and limited-time events are also inbound for each of the game’s three modes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 drops onto PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 12.
