Ever since their very public and messy falling out with Metal Gear series director Hideo Kojima, Konami hasn’t exactly enjoyed a great reputation in the eyes of many gamers. The publisher once stated that they’re not going to give up on video games, but recent products like Metal Gear Survive have done little to inspire any confidence. Game publishers, Konami included, are nothing if not persistent though, and perhaps the one time great’s latest move will help them recover at long last. Today, Konami dropped a surprise trailer for Castlevania: Requiem – a new Castlevania collection exclusive to PlayStation 4.
Castlevania: Requiem includes Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. These aren’t full remasters, but rather emulations designed to take advantage of the PlayStation 4 hardware. Both games will feature 4K/1080p upscaling, rendering options, high-definition backgrounds and full trophy support. The DualShock 4 controller will also be fully supported, with both games taking full advantage of its analog sticks, vibration function and speaker.
Castlevania: Requiem releases digitally for PlayStation 4 on October 26 at the price of $20.
