Both Super Mario Odyssey (roughly 12 million) and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (11.7 million) have new company so far as first-party titles for the Nintendo Switch goes. Specifically, those that have now sold in excess of ten million copies. Nintendo’s latest earnings release confirms that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s additional sales of around 1.8 million units during the period of April to September this financial year, has meant that the game has soared past yet another milestone and now currently sits at around 10.28 million copies sold worldwide.
Other more recent releases for the Switch also appear to have done well with the likes of this year’s Mario Tennis Aces now up to 2.16 million copies sold; Kirby Star Allies up to 2.1 million and the port of the Wii U’s Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze now standing at 1.67 million. Splatoon 2 meanwhile still has a way to go if it hopes to become the fourth ten million seller, sitting currently (though commendably) at 7.47 million copies sold.
