While the spiritual successor to the 1993 Mutant League Football game, Mutant Football League, has been available digitally for a year, an updated iteration is available today. Not only is it available in retail form for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch is also getting a version. Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition will include all the DLC and incorporates a Dynasty Mode that allows players to play multiple seasons in hopes of winning a Mayhem Bowl. Players will start off with a scrub team and will work to improve the team with player trades and experience all while fighting off salaries and off-the-field incidents that are seen in real football today. “Our passionate and dedicated community asked us for new ways to expand their Mutant Football League experience beyond the core gameplay,” said Michael Mendheim, Creative Director of Digital Dreams. “The new Dynasty Edition gives players more bone-crunching content than ever before, including a highly requested single-player campaign, and fun new teams and tricks to try out solo or multiplayer.”
Two new species including four new teams (six with retail edition) will be joining Dynasty Edition. The Purple Mutant Eaters and Hexxon Oilers are the teams that will join the new races Rampaging Werewolves and Hell-Spawned Demons. Every team and player is a pun of its real life counter part. Tim Kitzrow, famous voice of NBA Jam and NFL Blitz, calls the action in Mutant Football League with a focus on adult-oriented commentary. Lastly, the several new Dirty Tricks that include ruthless spectators and deadly traps are included in Dynasty Edition with plenty of post-play mayhem through multiple play modes.
