JRPGs have had a bit of a revival over the past few years, and a new one is set to join the fray. Edge of Eternity originally sprang to life thanks to Kickstarter, and now has a finalized release date for early access. The game was originally set for an early access release on November 29, but will now be released on December 5 so the team at Midgar Studio can fine-tune it a bit more. The game has a lush art style with a lot of bloom lighting and impressive reflections on things like swords – while lush greenery helps make the world come alive. The game has quite a pedigree behind it, with Yasunori Mitsuda of Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade Chronicles OST fame, behind the soundtrack. It has a large world and a large cast of characters. The combat system is turn-based with a tactical bend to it – offering up enough depth to give those who want it to enjoy, and those who don’t can play the game a bit more passively if they want.
