Another hero will be joining Star Wars Battlefront 2’s roster of legends come November 28. Obi-Wan Kenobi will come to the game as part of the Battle of Geonsis update, and will reflect the likeness of Ewan McGregor’s likeness as seen in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. According to EA’s announcement post, this version of Obi-Wan Kenobi has been designed to reflect the Jedi Master’s known strengths and weakness. As such, his mastery of defensive lightsaber combat will be reflected in his stats and move set.
Obi-Wan Kenobis moves and abilities focus mostly on defense and chained melee attacks, but they’re also supported with some good old fashioned Jedi trickery. Obi-Wan’s “Defensive Rush” ability allows him to charge ahead while perfectly reflecting all blaster bolts and damaging enemies in front of him. Players can also chain this into a devastating final strike if the want. Obi-Wan’s “Restrictive Mind Trick” ability can be used to disrupt all of an opponent’s abilities for a short time, and he can also make use of a more focused version of Luke’s “All-Out Force Push” ability, the range of which grows as the player holds down the button.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will come with the default “Jedi Master” appearance once unlocked, but players can also eventually unlock the “Robed” and “General Kenobi” appearances with either in-game Credits or Crystals.
Star Wars Battlefront II is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Battle of Geonosis update will be added to the game on November 28. Those who don’t know what this game is about should check out our review for more information.
