Rockstar Games today announced that the online portion of Red Dead Redemption 2 goes into beta this week.
Red Dead Online, which did not launch alongside Red Dead Redemption 2 last month, rolls out this week to all owners of the game. Rather than launch it to all players at once, Rockstar has opted to stagger the launch. Hopefully, this approach will help alleviate potential server issues. Those who purchased the ‘Ultimate Edition’ of the game get access tomorrow, November 27, and anyone who played the game game on launch can hop in November 28. For everyone else, Red Dead Online opens up on November 30.
Red Dead Online allows players to traverse the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 solo or with up to seven friends online. You’ll create and customize your character and then take them out into a shared world. Gather around the campfire, hunt, fish, battle rival gangs and complete missions together, or compete against other players.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PS4 and Xbox One. Red Dead Online is available for everyone who owns a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2.
