Anthem Closed Alpha Registration Opens, Takes Place Next Weekend

EA has opened up registration for Anthem’s Closed Alpha on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Those hungry to try out BioWare’s new shared-world shooter have an opportunity to play it early. EA intends to hold a Closed Alpha December 8-9, and is inviting players to sign up to participate. During select periods of time, players can test out an early portion of the upcoming game.

Players can sign up through EA’s Community Playtesting program. You’ll need an EA account to sign in, and a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription if you want to play on PS4 or Xbox One. You can only choose one platform to play on, so choose wisely. There are a total of four sessions across the two days, and you can choose as many or as few as you want. If accepted, EA will contact you closer to the Alpha’s start. Don’t worry if you don’t make it into the Alpha as there’ll likely be a beta closer to launch.

Anthem is a brand new IP from the minds of BioWare and EA. A shared-world shooter with deep RPG elements, Anthem is the studio’s first new IP since 2009s Dragon Age. Since then, the studio has churned out various Mass Effect and Dragon Age titles. Hopefully, Anthem can capture the magic of those titles.

Anthem is out February 22, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A brand new trailer is scheduled to premiere at next week’s The Game Awards show.
