Obsidian Announces ‘The Outer Worlds’ at Game Awards 2018

A few days ago, Obsidian started teasing a new game to be revealed at the Game Awards 2018 via a few in-universe ads on their website’s homepage. Well, the Game Awards are here, and Obsidian did not disappoint. Their newly revealed game is called “The Outer Worlds,” and it’s looking like a BioShock-esque retro-futuristic RPG in space wherein players have to take their world back from the corporations that have overrun it. The reveal wasn’t much more than a teaser, but it already looks like The Outer Worlds has plenty of potential, especially since it doesn’t seem to be taking itself too seriously.

Actually, there were a few shots of ships zipping-off into space, so there may just be multiple worlds to liberate instead of just the one. With plenty of creative weapons on offer, a healthy dose of comedy and some of the minds behind the original Fallout at the helm, the Outer Worlds is definitely a game sci-fi fans will want to keep an eye on.

The Outer Worlds has no release date yet, but it will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
