With all the talk focused around the platform itself, namely its infrastructure and potential capabilities, there was very little in the way of actual games to show off that showed up during Google’s GDC 2019 Keynote speech. But there was one upcoming title at least that raised a few eyebrows and it was none other than the hotly-anticipated DOOM Eternal from id Software.
Marty Stratton, Executive Producer at id, took the stage to announce that not only would the sequel to 2016 DOOM be coming to the platform, but that it would also natively support 4K resolution (with support for HDR) at 60FPS. Stratton stopped short of stating whether this would be some form of launch title for the platform however, nor was there any more news on the game’s general release date for other platforms. DOOM Eternal will also be coming to PS4, Xbox One, Switch & PC sometime in 2019.
