NetherRealm Studios today revealed the first DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11.
Those hoping for Shang Tsung to make a triumphant return in Mortal Kombat 11’s base roster are going to be disappointed. Rather than bring him back in the base roster, he’ll instead by DLC. For as classic as Shang Tsung is, it’s disappointing to see him relegated to DLC status.
However, NetherRealm is doing something rather cool with the character. Shang Tsung’s model is based on actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa’s likeness. For those who don’t know, Cary played Shang Tsung in the 1995 live-action movie. In the game, Shang Tsung serves as the host, narrator, and guide for the Krypt. It is unknown if he’ll make an appearance in the story mode.
Mortal Kombat 11 is out April 23 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. It is unknown how much individual characters or the Kombat Pass will cost. It also remains unclear if any DLC characters or Kombat Pass will be available on Nintendo Switch. NetherRealm Studios also announced today the return of Noob Saibot.
