Final Fantasy VII: Remake may be ways off yet, but fans now at least have something new to help tide them over. Indeed, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is out today and it’s sporting more than the standard improvements to the visuals and sound quality.
In addition to an overall improved presentation, several new features have been added to Final Fantasy VIII Remastered to help players get the most out of the experience. These include:
- Battle Assist: Allows players to always have max health and ATB. Limit Breaks can be freely triggered too.
- No Encounters: Allows random encounters to be turned-off. Great for story immersion, but perhaps not so much for grinding levels.
- Triple Speed Boost: Speeds up the game by a factor of three. Run faster; fight faster and generally burn through the game faster.
On Steam, Final Fantasy VIII also give players the option to immediately unlock all Limit Breaks, have all abilities, max out their Gil, be at max level, and have all cards in their collection. Using these certainly won’t make for a “pure” experience, but it’ll definitely be different.
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
