Anthology of Fear to Usher in New Horror Experience on Switch, PC Next Year

The upcoming psychological horror title Anthology of Fear will be heading to Nintendo Switch and PC next year, Ultimate Games today announced.

According to the publisher, RG Crew’s indie title will arrive first on PC in Q1 2020 and will be followed up with a release on Nintendo’s hybrid console a “few months later.”

Anthology of Fear unfolds across different stories that are not connected.

The first-person psychological horror title will have three stories and are told across different time periods.

Players are first transported to the twentieth century to a remote area of Siberia and will challenge them with surviving and hunting.

And the second story takes players to a contemporary historical setting and focuses on ‘creative act and alienation.’

Finally, the third storyline of Anthology of Fear will have memories as its core theme and takes place in an ‘unspecified place and time.’

Hubert Zatorski, the director and chief designer of the title, said: “Each of the three stories is different — of course, there are also different characters, time periods and so on.

“The player thus receives three smaller games in one. Each of them will provide different experiences.

“Our game will be diverse and ambiguous. It won’t be any problem for fans of the series Silent Hill and Outlast to find themselves in Anthology of Fear.

“The same goes for titles in the style of Layers of Fear, Alan Wake or even Hunt: Showdown.”

Piotr Rycąbel, the chief programmer at RG Crew, added: “In Anthology of Fear, we took a broad perspective and that will translate into the gameplay itself.

“Thus, each episode will also be different in this respect.

“Depending on the episode, there will be plenty of exploration, sneaking, escaping, fighting and hunting.”
